Cancer Drug Shortages Continue

Posted by Molly Jacobson on December 1, 2023

The oncological drug shortages this year have caused veterinarians to stagger appointments, schedule around drug deliveries, and offer fewer medication choices to patients. Drug shortages due to quality, supply chain, or manufacturing problems continue, with 30 cancer drugs currently on the FDA’s list. It’s yet another stress on an already burdened veterinary profession, and it’s contributing to some veterinarians retiring. Will it lead to more veterinarian burnout? Only time will tell, and we here at DogCancer.com hope the holiday season, always a busy time of year, goes easy on veterinarians and their support staff.
