One Health (One Medicine)

One Health (sometimes called One Medicine) is the recognition among health experts that human health, animal health, and environmental health are entwined with each other. What helps humans often also helps animals, and improving the environment improves health for animals and humans, too. Veterinarians, who are educated on the health and well-being of multiple species, have a special understanding of this. In the last decades, the human medical field has advanced based on veterinary insights, and vice versa. We here at DogCancer.com are big fans of One Health, and consider it central to our mission to help improve the lives of dogs and the people who love them.  You can read more about One Health on the FDA’s website, the CDC’s website, and the One Health Initiative’s website.
