Electrochemotherapy

Electrochemotherapy combines electrotherapy and chemotherapy. Your oncologist will use an electric pulse generator to deliver high-voltage pulses to your dog’s tumor. That will “loosen up” the cell’s plasma membrane (like the skin around a cell). Chemotherapy is now more effective because electrotherapy has made cancer cells more vulnerable. Depending upon many factors, the pulses might be given simultaneously as the chemotherapy agent, before or after. Electrochemotherapy usually requires anesthesia to make sure your dog is still during the procedure.
