Anti-Inflammatory

An anti-inflammatory is a drug or other agent used to reduce inflammation in the body. Inflammation causes redness, swelling, and pain, and anti-inflammatories can help lessen those symptoms. Cancer tends to create inflammation and thrive in an inflamed body, so using anti-inflammatories is a common treatment choice. Oral steroids like prednisone may be prescribed, or Non-Steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) might be used. To a lesser extent, supplements and even foods may have an anti-inflammatory effect.
